Kindergarten, Here We Come!

Image
Banana's Families, It is hard to believe that we are three weeks away from the end of our school year and our Banana friends will be off to Kindergarten before we know it! Over the last couple of weeks we have been talking about our upcoming transition to Kindergarten and these friends are SO EXCITED!!!! We learned the names of our new school, talked about some things that we are excited for in kindergarten and some of the things that make us feel nervous or scared, and we have practiced some of the skills needed in kindergarten, like packing our bags up at the end of the day. The friends used the blocks in the block center to design and build their elementary schools, used watercolor paint to create their kindergarten classroom or elementary school, and created an "All About Me" sheet to give to their new teacher, so the teacher will have a better understanding of their likes and dislikes! We also continued to practice many of our early learning skills that we will use i

Flowers and Gardening

Hello Banana's Families, We have had so much fun learning about flowers and gardening over the last couple of weeks in our classroom! The friends have explored the different parts of a flower, measured how tall different flowers were and compared the sizes, painted with flowers, and used various shapes to create their own flowers. Our dramatic play center was converted into a flower shop where the children created bouquets for their friends, teachers, and other shoppers in the center. The friends constructed their own gardens in the block center and created some very unique flower stands and garden beds! Next week we will begin our transition to kindergarten theme. If you have not already, please let me know the name of the school your child will be attending next year! We also want to thank everyone for all of the wonderful goodies you all brought us during Teacher Appreciation Week! We love you all! Happy Mother's Day!
