Apples

Happy Friday,

It has been a busy week of learning about Apples through our play and activities! Take a look at what we have been up to!

Our dramatic play center was transformed into a Farmers Market/Apple Orchard where the friends engaged in play with picking apples, making recipes with apples, and engaging in various roles of play in a market (customer, cashier, baker,etc..).

In table toys we used geoshapes to make different fall pictures. The friends matched the shapes on the card to the geoshape to create the picture. We created patterns with apples and used unifix cubes to measure different items we may see during the fall season.

In the block center, the friends engaged in play of building a farmers market! They used the blocks to create the stands and even added the play people to visit their farmers market.

In science we learned about the different parts of an apple and used various tools in the center to explore the inside of the apple.

During our weekly visit with our OT, Mrs. Dawn, she brought a new friend, Mat Man, to help us learn all about the types of lines that we can write and draw. The friends used Mat Man to learn about curved lines and straight lines to make his body!

We had our first social skills group with Mrs. Sara this week! During our social skills group we met a new friend, Sally and continued to explore different emotions and how they make us feel!

In art this week, we practiced our cutting and pasting skills to create our own apples.

We had a taste test to try red apples and green apples to see which one was our favorite! The friends also agreed that the green apple tasted a little more sour and the red apple was more sweet!

We hope everyone has a great weekend!
